For the past few years, hubby and I have bought pie pumpkins (those cute little ones about the size of a small basketball) and had them sitting around to lend a Fall time atmosphere. Sooner or later, though, they become pies.
Meet “Skipper” the Pumpkin. He’s a bit larger than last year’s pumpkin as you can see by this photo of him side-by-side with Little Yellow Teapot.
“Skipper” actually doesn’t like that name and think it’s like that guy portrayed by Alan Hale on that mysteriously popular TV show “Gilligan’s Island.” But to hubby and me, it’s the name that seems to fit him. We keep hearing him say in a tiny, whiny pumpkin voice, “Stop calling me that!” Hee!
Anyway, “Skipper” is lending our home a great Fall time atmosphere as he contemplates his fate. Fortunately for us, there is no Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Pumpkins! So here goes…
“Nah nah nah… you’ll be a pie soon!”
Sorry, that was too cruel. How about this:
“Don’t worry, Skipper, it won’t hurt a bit.”
